All the Rice Moves: Blurring Fermentation’s Borders

  • The Brooklyn Brewery 79 North 11th Street Brooklyn, NY, 11249 United States (map)

Brooklyn Brewmaster Garrett Oliver, Brooklyn Kura head brewer Brandon Doughan, and Joshua M. Bernstein, the author of the just-released Drink Better Beer, are getting together for a spirited discussion on the boundaries between some of our favorite beverages.

Where does beer end and sake begin? What happens when wine enter the discussion? Can a beer make a “true” cocktail? And does any of this matter as long as you’re drinking something tasty? Grab a beer or two for yourself and see where these borders truly lie, if they exist at all.

We have limited seats for the evening, but plenty of beer to explore during the discussion. Entry and your first beer are $7, or pick up admission, a beer, and a copy of Drink Better Beer for just $20. Bring a drinking buddy or two and prepare to explore some new frontiers.
